What Type of Dance?
I do an intense form of swing dancing called the lindy hop. Lindy hop started in 1927 in Harlem and became increasingly popular as it developed in the 30’s and 40’s alongside big band swing music. Although little-known in the mainstream, lindy hop enjoys a worldwide following, largely thanks to Frankie Manning. Click here for video of me (Liz Miller) doing the lindy hop with my my friend Ben. Click here for the quintessential lindy hop clip, from 1941.
